Aerotropolis Group present intentions for a four tower World Trade Centre in Western Sydney, including an international convention centre, commercial space and an innovation centre for start-ups. Opening is intended to coincide with the airport in 2026 and will create an estimated 43,,5000 direct jobs by 2040.

May 2018

Northern Gateway development announced. Property group Boyuan Holdings Limited will lead a consortium dedicated to creating a 344-hectare masterplanned health and education precinct. It is estimated to create 38,000 new jobs and $14.3billion in economic output according to analysis by PricewaterhouseCoopers.


May 2018

Federal Government Budget confirms major investment in Western Sydney, including:

  • $2.9 billion to continue Western Sydney Infrastructure plan for better road linkages
  • $15 million to accelerate planning & zoning reforms to support delivery of housing supply
  • $5.3 billion in WSA Co to build Western Sydney Airport with construction due to start this year
  • $1.5 billion of funding and $2 billion concessional loan for WestConnex freeway project

  • Connectivity - North South rail link, bus services, digital connectivity (inc. 5G trial)
  • Employment - Creating 200,000 jobs in 20 years
  • Skills & education – Aerospace Institute & TAFE Skills exchange, possible STEM university
  • Liveability - $150million Western Parkland City Liveability programme to deliver community facilities and protect natural assets
  • Housing – $30m housing package to support planning process to help deliver minimum of 184,500 homes over next 20 years
  • Governance – adopting a partnership approach to planning between the three levels of government.
  • The City Deal includes a centrepiece commitment from the Australian and NSW Governments to deliver the first stage of Western Sydney Rail, a North-South Rail Link from St Marys to Badgerys Creek Aerotropolis via Western Sydney Airport
